Al-Shimari is an art gallery by Ahmed Al-Shemari, which aims to make a better connection between all the countries of the middle east, by making all kinds of art and making people gain experience from each other, and to know each other more.
A month ago, Mr. Ahmed posted an announcement about a competition, the task was to make a new logo and a new identity. As soon as I saw that I wanted to participate and give it a try. Also It was fun to work on it, and to solve such problem like this one that the gallery faces.
The problem: The gallery has a weak identity that doesn't make any visual connection with the people of it, using minimal design patterns, illustrations and bad doodles that don't work and don't give the right gut feeling. Plus a complex logo.
Solution: Making a strong colorful identity that represents the right audience, the art lovers from the middle east from all ages, the goal was to make the it feel like it came from any fine arts school in the middle east, the main place for artists. With a new and unusual logo that's extremely flexible and has that modern Islamic/Arabian vibe.

The logo was meant to be flexible and dynamic, with 3 versions, so it can be fitted into any kind of a communication piece with any dimension. And to work like a blank canvas that can contain all kinds of arts, just like the gallery, it has artists that make any kind of art out there.
