Layana: A Journey Back to the Golden
Days of Sahel
Layana is more than just a North Coast resort—it's a tribute to the timeless memories of Egypt's golden era by the sea. The entire creative direction and branding for Layana were rooted in one mission: bringing back the good old days of the Sahel.

To visually communicate this nostalgic journey, I embraced Retro-Modernism, blending modern design principles with inspiration from the 80s and 90s magazines and brochures. This approach shaped the logo, typography, photography treatments, and overall brand identity, creating a visual language that feels both familiar and fresh.

From crafting a distinct logo and cohesive brand identity to designing impactful social media visuals, printables, and executing a successful outdoor campaign across New Cairo, the project focused on forging an emotional connection with Layana’s audience through nostalgia—a story of cherished beachside memories passed down through generations.
By playing the nostalgia card in an unconventional way, Layana stood apart from its competitors, creating a memorable brand that invites its audience to relive the magic of simpler, sun-soaked times.
